2022 Kia Carnival Safety Technology

2022 Kia Carnival | Wesley Chapel, FL

When you’re looking for a reliable family vehicle, you want something that is exceptionally safe. The 2022 Kia Carnival MPV is equipped with a long list of standard Kia Drive Wise driver-assist technology that gives you added peace of mind every time you get behind the wheel. Beyond that, Kia offers many available features for even more security for you and your family.

Forward Collision Avoidance-Assist with Pedestrian Detection

Utilizing sensors and cameras in the front of the Carnival, this system will alert you if you’re approaching a possible collision and will apply the brakes to help prevent this. When you upgrade to the available Forward Collision Avoidance-Assist with Cyclist Detection and Junction Turning, the system will keep an eye out for cyclists and when you are traveling through an intersection.

Driver Attention Warning with Leading Vehicle Departure Alert

Life is hectic and it is easy to get distracted while you are behind the wheel. This system will monitor your attention level and alert you audibly if it is reduced. Additionally, if you are in stop-and-go traffic, the system will let you know if the vehicle ahead of you has moved.

Lane Departure Warning

With the help of the aforementioned cameras and sensors, this system will alert you if you start to drift from your designated lane on the road. It will also remind you to use your turn signal if you are changing lanes above a certain speed.

Lane Keeping Assist

Working in tandem with Lane Departure Warning, this system will gently apply corrective steering to ensure that you stay within your designated lane on the road.

Lane Following Assist

When using the standard Smart Cruise Control with Stop & Go system, Lane Following Assist will ensure that the Carnival is centered within its lane.

High Beam Assist

If it’s exceptionally dark outside and you would like to use the Carnival’s bright headlights for assistance, it can be exhausting to turn them off frequently for oncoming vehicles. High Beam Assist takes the hassle out of that and will automatically detect other cars and will dim the headlights from high to low beam temporarily.

Rear View Monitor with Dynamic Parking Guidance

Almost all vehicles come with a standard rearview camera system. However, the Kia Carnival comes with a Rear View Monitor that also offers Dynamic Parking Guidance that relies on your steering input to help you park better. The available Surround View Monitor gives you an all-around view of the Carnival, including a virtual bird’s-eye-view, via four cameras. Available Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist with Parallel Exit Assist will apply the brakes when a vehicle is in your blind spot. But beyond that, you can also add the available Blind View Monitor that presents a live view of your blind spot when changing lanes.

Rear Cross-Traffic Collision-Avoidance Assist

Even more safety in the form of an extra set of eyes can be had with this system, which will scan for other vehicles or motorcycles as you back up, alert you, and apply the brakes if necessary.

Parking Distance Warning, Reverse

Similar to Rear Cross-Traffic Collision-Avoidance Assist, this system uses sensors to let you know if you are getting too close to an object as you park while in reverse. The system will beep loudly to remind you to stop moving. Add the available Front system for when you’re moving forward or the Parking Collision-Avoidance Assist, Reverse system that will apply the brakes when needed.

Rear Occupant Alert

If you have someone or something in the back seat as you’re driving the Carnival, this system will remind you to check that area. You will receive visual and audio reminders in the vehicle as well as a push notification to your Kia Connect account for added safety.

Safe Exit Assist with Power Rear Child-Safety Door Locks

To keep everyone safe when exiting the Carnival MPV, this standard radar system will warn passengers that a vehicle is approaching from behind and to take extra caution.

Additional available technology

Beyond all of the previously mentioned standard safety technology, you can also add features like Highway Driving Assist that uses data to control the Carnival’s acceleration, deceleration, and steering. But one of the even more advanced features is Navigation-based Smart Cruise Control with Stop and Go that will automatically adjust the vehicle’s speed for curves and changes in your route based on navigation data.
