 Kia also engaged with AMCI Testing (an independent automotive research firm) to gauge the fully-charged range of a 2020 Niro EV EX. AMCI Testing’s range testing consisted of two different scenarios:
Real-World City/Highway Cycle. For this test, the vehicle was driven on a 48.8-mile city/highway cycle route in Southern California. The drive mode was set to ECO; coast energy was set to Level 3; and the HVAC mode was set to ECO at 74 degrees. Additional testing details and protocols are available through AMCI Testing. Result: 293-mile all-electric range
Real-World City Cycle. For this test, the vehicle was driven on a 71.2-mile city cycle route in Southern California. The drive mode was set to ECO+; coast energy was set to Level 3; and the HVAC mode was set to A/C Off and Fan Manual. Additional testing details and protocols are available through AMCI Testing. Result: 317-mile all-electric range.
